$53k in Canada, while only $34k in the US! Come on Volvo, what a rip off. With our exchange rate it should be $45k Cnd. What Volvo has done here is lower the retail price in the US by $7,500 because it does not qualify for the federal tax credit since it is manufactured in China. While in Canada Volvo charges more because the consumer will get the $5,000 tax credit. Basically the Canadian tax payer is paying for Volvo to enjoy a higher profit margin.

I would order one now if the the price was the U S price plus Canadian exchange rate. Canada has a long standing relationship with Volvo as the Canadian was built here in the past. I wonder why the discriminatory pricing. Very disappointing.

Greenghost, 08 Oct 2023Canadians are getting the shaft....again 35k USD is more like 48K converted to Canadian dollar... moreYou can get a Tesla model Y all wheel extended range fir $70k only few thousand dollars more and Tesla Y is much bigger size and room. Tech wise just as advance as Volvo, i owned a Volvo before and i don't mind to buy another but value wise Tesla is better. I am hoping to reserve a 2025 model Y with 4680 battery and all the new hardwares except for the stalk less steering wheel, just like many others i m holding off for the updated model Y before i switch to the EV.

Canadians are getting the shaft....again 35k USD is more like 48K converted to Canadian dollars. Thanks Volvo....for nothing!

Canadian pricing is not great. You can pick up the RWD Polestar 2 for almost the same price, as well as the Ioniq 5 RWD.

Hmm, the base price matches the new Hyundai Kona EV and the Volvo looks like a much better car.
