China is by far the largest producer of green energy (wind & solar) in the world and they will keep expanding the green power network. But energy use keep increasing at the same time and, in some areas, coal powerplants are constructed as a stop-gap measure.

They've built well over 100 coal fired power plants last year and the skies are gray so often from pollution. I think the green "transition" there is half hearted and more of a façade. EV's are win/win because they have all the materials, oil is something China has to import and EV's are something they can export to the "green" nations.

Really? That is kinda hard to imagine, when 90% of EVs on the market are poorly designed, low efficiency, low effort tosh.

EVs are much harder to make, because not only you have to stay on technology edge when it comes to batteries and motors, you have to balance packaging, passenger comfort, efficiency, battery management, heat management for passengers, charging ...
ICEs are hard, for some manufacturers, because they have to abide to CO2 limits and other regulations.
The EV market, on the other hand, is pretty much wild west ... and even wilder when you want to sell your EV two years later.

Their aim is to eliminate all ICE cars by the turn of the decade or early next decade. The current focus in China is EV manufacturing, not ICE.

Making electric car isn't as hard as ICE. China is the proof of that. Trying hard to make ICE vehicles for 40-45 years and yet India is ahead of China in terms of ICE specially commercial vehicles. Every phone maker would start making EVs.
TBH, there isn't much difference.
