V... moreI find them ok, I'm generally not a fan of huge wheels and am always surprised how people forget that cars are tools and not just status symbols. Plenty of bad nice-looking cars around, Mercedes made their name with good technical underpinnings and were never particularly pretty.

I generally don't like latest Mercedes exterior and interior, but this electric CLA seems really solid.

This CLA is the among the best EVs for highway, as it has very efficient motors, a good-sized battery, low drag and small frontal area and high charging speeds. No EV will be driven at 200km/h for long stretches and in most of the planet highway speed means around 130km/h. People road trip many EVs on the market without much fuss, this car is even more capable of doing that.
On buying a car new: no sane person should buy a car new, ICE or EV :)

This electric CLA peforms very bad on Autobahn because the range drops dramatically at highway speeds.
The supposedly new tech doesn't offer big changes in this matter. This is why this car will be another EV only driven in urban area, being unsuitable for longer trips.

The only customers will be middle-class employees who will lease this as a company car. Nobody is going to buy an EV privately for the full price.

Why do you find the EV version much worse than the ICE at Autobahn speed? Also, a >4,7m car for urban driving?!

Those pictures are A+. Even makes me like the design of that car, which is very hard as it's ugly as sin

Great. Now make it look like a normal car and I will buy it. Because Mercedes promised to make "normal" looking EVs, but obviously they are now bringing the weird EV design to ICE cars too ( a design which has been criticised by customers).

Moreover, this CLA performs much worse than ICE cars at high speeds, I live in Germany and driving on the Autobahn is part of everyday life, so this is bad.

In conclusion, this is another car only for urban driving and very ugly exterior but also interior design with a flat touchscreen "board" stretching from driver's to co-driver's door, replacing the speedometer and all manual buttons.
