Chief sleep officer, 31 May 2026327mi range at 32kwh per 100mi. Just doing some napkin math, if you work out how many miles yo... moreThat is because it is an average with the dual motor. Once you are on the highway you are only engaging one motor so you will see closer to 4. Most of the dual motor evs are breathing the estimated range and efficiency because of how the US forces the rating for dual motors when both are not engaged. I won't be surprised if actual range is higher like 340 because Rivian dual motors specifically have had better range and efficiency than the rated estimates but that is true for Tesla as well.

Sounds like it was written by someone who owns Rivian stock and is 90% underwater lol.

327mi range at 32kwh per 100mi. Just doing some napkin math, if you work out how many miles you get per Kilowatt-hour from the stated efficiency you get 3.125mi/KwH. So 86.8 (battery pack) times 3.125 should be your estimated range. Which obviously is nowhere near 327, it's actually just 271mi at full. Which means 80% of that on road trips if you are going from 90-10 (which you aren't likely to do), so 218mi new with no degradation. Call me crazy, but real world numbers for the Y are better than these ideal numbers for the R2, and this is not at 75-80mph where most people expect to road trip at. The devil's in the details I guess...

This article is disingenuous at best but likely purposefully misleading. I’d like to see Rivian succeed but to say that the R2 is just as efficient as a Model Y is blatantly ignoring and misleading leading the readers to the fact that you’re referring to the Performance model only. There are 4 other trim levels that are significantly more efficient and cost effective than the R2.

Like the last image - nice back, R2

Who is gonna buy a Rivian without rugged tires. Also, why are you comparing cost from a pound perspective to a dollar perspective. Makes the Rivian look less.
