Max McDee, 17 July 2024

Lucid Motors has raised the bar for electric vehicle efficiency with its 2025 Air Pure model, achieving an unprecedented 5 miles per kWh of energy. This remarkable feat makes the Air Pure the most energy-efficient mass market car globally.

The enhanced efficiency translates to an EPA-estimated range of 420 miles from its 84 kWh battery pack.

The increased efficiency stems from the inclusion of a heat pump, previously exclusive to the high-performance Sapphire model. It contributes significantly to energy savings, particularly in colder climates.

Beyond the Air Pure, the entire 2025 Lucid Air lineup gains some extra range. The Air Grand Touring boasts a remarkable 512 miles of EPA-estimated range, while the Air Touring achieves 406 miles. All models now come standard with Lucid's DreamDrive Premium advanced driver assistance system as well. Additionally, a new generation of control hardware with triple the processing power and double the memory promises a smoother and more responsive infotainment experience.

The 2025 Lucid Air Pure starts at $69,900 in the US, the Air Touring and Air Grand Touring are priced at $78,900 and $110,900, respectively.

Lucid's focus on efficiency extends beyond the immediate benefits to drivers. More efficient cars mean fewer raw materials needed for the same range, reducing environmental impact and manufacturing costs. This, in turn, means more affordable EVs for consumers, accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation.
