Tesla Supercharger test in California reaches over 320kW

Vlad, 05 August 2024

Tesla is running a test on "a few different" Supercharger V3+ stations in the US (those with V3 cabinet and V4 charge post). This sees charging speeds go up to over 320 kW initially, with one Tesla enthusiast being able to reach 323kW as you can see from the posts on X which are embedded below.

One of the users in the thread mentions it's the first time he's seen a Supercharger going significantly over 250kW. Tesla's Wes Morrill, Cybertruck lead engineer and in charge of reliability, testing, and analysis for all of the company's vehicles, replied basically confirming the test they're running.

Hopefully if everything goes smoothly, such 320+kW charging speeds will become commonplace on V3+ Superchargers to the benefit of Cybertruck owners, but for now Tesla hasn't announced anything more than what you can see above. So the company doesn't even want to publicize exactly where the Superchargers which are part of the test are located, unfortunately for us curious folk. And yet, with enterprising Tesla owners like these, it's probably only a matter of time before all of the locations are outed.
