See the self-driving Yangwang U9 jump over obstacles

Ro, 06 January 2025

BYD's all-electric supercar Yangwang U9 is capable of impressive feats of performance - it recently lapped the Nürburgring in a little over 7 minutes and reached 233 mph top speed. In the most recent promo video, however, BYD showcases the Disus X hydraulic suspension system's capabilities.

The video shows an unmanned Yangwang U9 going at 75 mph and thanks to its advanced hydraulic suspension system, the car jumps over various obstacles. One of them is a water-filled pothole measuring 98.4 inches-long, although the vehicle was able to leap over 236 inches.

The other obstacle is 3.5 cm-high road spikes, which the Yangwang U9 easily overcomes.

While the Disus X suspension system is known, BYD doesn't share which ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance System) is used for the video. Previously, the company has announced cooperation with DJI and Horizon Robotics.
