Zeekr 7X humiliates every other EV out there with its insane charging speed, here's the video

Vlad, 31 January 2025

If you're looking for innovation in the EV space, there's an argument to be made that where you need to be looking is China. Today's case in point is about charging speed. The dream of getting a decent charge in 10 minutes or less is pretty much still just that across the world, but Chinese brand Zeekr begs to differ.

The Zeekr 7X EV with its 75kWh LFP "Golden Battery" was tested in the video embedded below and went from 10% to 80% in under 10 minutes. But wait, that's not all - going from completely empty to 100% only took around 20 minutes.

This goes to show, once again, how the charging curve for any EV is a million times more important than the advertised peak charge rate, which some EVs only reach for a minute or two, if that.

To quote Out of Spec Reviews, this is just embarrassing for every other EV maker out there. Needless to say, if every EV had this charging performance, all the talk of "range anxiety" would instantly be confined to the history books.

But, instead of investing in actually useful stuff like this, most car makers seem content to beg governments for subsidies, hoping that will truly make EVs mainstream. And governments are either happy to oblige, or think that mandating EV-only new car sales is magically going to make people want them. It's a truly interesting world we live in.

Also true. Replaceable and leaseable battery is the way to go. The issue is developing standards for it. Now that CATL have joined that race, we may see more developments. Vinfast shouldn't be dismissed either.

You are missing the point though. Pouring resources into developing insanely fast batteries that you have no chargers for, nor will have in foreseeable future, is a waste, all the while saving pennies on actual physical buttons for the fking vipers a...

Zeekr 7x is 43k , not that expensive. Model Y is 60k in Europe, which is what it competes with.
