Audi A6 Sportback e-tron US pricing revealed, Avant not coming to America

Audi officially launched its highly anticipated 2025 A6 e-tron in the US, and the numbers are turning heads. The electric Sportback model will challenge the likes of the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE.

The A6 e-tron lineup begins with the rear-wheel-drive base model, featuring a 100 kWh battery pack (94.4 kWh net) and a single electric motor producing 375 horsepower. With a starting price of $65,900 for the Premium trim, Audi undercuts the 335-hp BMW i5 eDrive40, which starts at $67,100. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ Sedan, with its 288 hp, carries a significantly higher price tag of $74,900. Audi also offers Premium Plus and Prestige trims for the base model, adding features like advanced LED lighting and adaptive air suspension.

If you need more power, the A6 e-tron Quattro model comes with dual electric motors, delivering a combined 456 hp. Starting at $67,900, it also presents a compelling alternative to the BMW i5 xDrive40, which offers 389 hp at a starting price of $70,100. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic, with its 402 hp, again commands a premium, starting at $85,900.

The top-tier S6 e-tron boasts an impressive 543 hp, with prices ranging from $78,700 to $84,600, depending on the trim level. Curiously, that price is over $20,000 lower than in Audi's home country. Clearly, the Germans want a sizable slice of the American EV pie since sales in Europe aren't that encouraging.

Range is a critical factor for EV buyers, and the A6 e-tron delivers. The base model achieves an EPA-estimated 392 miles on a single charge. The Quattro version offers 377 miles when equipped with the ultra package, while the high-performance S6 e-tron provides 324 miles. All A6 e-tron models feature an 800-volt charging system, supporting charging speeds of up to 270 kW which enables a 10-80% charge in just 21 minutes.

By keeping things simple - only one battery size, but three power levels and three trims - Audi wants to offer a viable alternative to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. The decision not to bring the Avant version to the US is interesting and hopefully not permanent. While the A6 e-tron isn't exactly affordable, it is much cheaper than its direct competitors, and that will make buyers take notice.
