BMW's upcoming Neue Klasse platform will debut with 3 Series sedan and SUV
BMW announced its brand new Neue Klasse platform a couple of months back and now the company revealed more details on it and when the first cars will hit the market.
The first two vehicles based on Neue Klasse are going to be a sedan and SUV in the 3 Series class. And by the end of the decade, the new platform will account for about half the company's sales. That sounds quite ambitious, given that the first Neue Klasse cars will only be available in 2025.
It's pretty safe to say that the upgraded i3 and iX3 will be the first vehicles based on the platform and will likely come out of the Debrecen factory in Hungary, while the one in Munich will follow shortly after.
The Neue Klasse is going to be the staple for EVs while ICE-powered options, even in the 3 Series, will be based on the CLAR platform.
