VW ID.3 Neo is official with a new design, a new interior, and better range
As promised last month, VW has now unveiled the ID.3 Neo. It comes with a new name in order to (hopefully) differentiate it in people's minds from the many issues the non-Neo ID.3 faced.
The ID.3 Neo comes with three motor/battery pairing options: a 125kW/170PS motor paired with a 50kWh (net) battery, a 140kW/190PS motor paired with a 58kWh (net) battery, and a 170kW/231PS motor paired with a 79kWh (net) battery.
The 50kWh and 58kWh batteries support DC charging at up to 105kW, while the 79kWh battery goes up to 183kW. Range will go up to 391 miles WLTP, though it's unclear on which exact combo.
On the inside, there's a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit instrument cluster in front of the driver and a 12.9-inch central display powered by a new infotainment system which has an app store.
VW promises "new ergonomic and self-explanatory controls" and "easy to grip buttons and intuitive controllers for central functions". The steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom and comes with "clearly structured button panels".
Optionally, you can get a head-up display, a large panoramic sunroof, 360-degree Area View, a massage and memory function for the front seats, a Harman/Kardon sound system, a memory function for Park Assist Pro, and a removable bike carrier bracket for tow bars.
The ID.3 Neo will go on pre-order in Germany and "many European markets" on April 16.
