Nio's Firefly gets certified, has some specs outed

Nio's cheapest brand, Firefly, showcased its debut model which is also simply called Firefly, towards the end of December. In the meantime we've seen it undergoing some tough winter testing, and today it's received the necessary certification for sale in China.

This process has outed the images of the car you can see in this article, along with some of its specs. Let's dive right in.

The Firefly has a single electric motor which develops 105 kW (140 hp, 142 PS) of power. The car has a top speed of 93 mph. It's powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery manufactured by Sunwoda, although its capacity sadly hasn't been revealed.

The Firefly is 157.6 inches long, 70.1 inches wide, and 61.3 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 103 inches. It weighs 3,289 lb.

The Firefly went on pre-order in China last month starting at CNY 148,800 (approximately $20,300). It will be fully unveiled in April and should land in Europe by the end of June.
