Porsche Macan deliveries start in the US

The 2024 Porsche Macan Electric has finally arrived in the United States. It starts at $75,300, although those looking to indulge in Porsche's renowned customization options may find themselves paying twice as much. A fully loaded Macan Turbo Electric can easily surpass $150,000, making it one of the most expensive electric crossovers on the market.

This eye-watering figure is reached through a plethora of personalization choices, ranging from bespoke paint jobs to luxurious interior enhancements. For instance, a paint-to-sample exterior color from Porsche Manufaktur can set you back a staggering $13,140. Adding features like the dual-tone leather upholstery, off-road design package, augmented reality heads-up display, and a Burmester sound system quickly inflates the final cost. One can even opt for leather-covered rear parcel shelves and seat bases as a part of the extensive (and expensive) customization possibilities.

Despite the potential for exorbitant pricing, the Macan Electric offers impressive performance across its various trims. All versions are equipped with an 800V 100 kWh battery pack, enabling rapid charging at up to 270 kW. This means a 10% to 80% charge takes just 21 minutes, in perfect conditions, of course.

The entry-level Macan Electric, priced from $75,300, features a rear-wheel-drive setup with a single electric motor generating 335 hp. This allows for a 0-60 mph sprint in 5.4 seconds. Stepping up to the Macan 4 Electric, priced at $78,800, adds a second motor and all-wheel drive, boosting power to 402 hp and reducing the 0-60 mph time to 4.9 seconds. The Macan 4 Electric also boasts the longest range in the lineup, with an EPA-estimated 308 miles on a single charge.

For those wanting even more performance, the Macan 4S Electric, starting at $85,900, delivers 509 hp and a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. At the top of the range sits the Macan Turbo Electric, priced from $105,300. With a staggering 630 hp, it catapults from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds. This performance comes at the expense of range, with an EPA-estimated 288 miles.

The Macan Electric is a watershed moment for Porsche. In some markets, it replaces the brand's best-selling model, the combustion-powered Macan. In the US however, Porsche will continue to offer the gasoline-powered Macan alongside its electric counterpart.
