Porsche's much-anticipated electric Macan is finally making its debut, and it's bringing some impressive range figures along for the ride. The EPA has officially rated the Macan Electric at 308 miles, while the sportier Turbo version gets a rating of 288 miles on a full charge.

While these numbers might seem a tad lower than the European WLTP ratings, which suggested a range closer to 381 miles, it's important to remember that WLTP tests tend to be more optimistic. Porsche themselves have hinted that real-world range could be 10-15% higher than the EPA estimates, putting the Macan Electric firmly in the 300+ mile club.

For those eager to experience this electric crossover firsthand, the wait is almost over. The first batch of Macan EVs is set to hit US dealerships on September 30th. Porsche confirmed that the first units are already en route, and depending on your location, you might see them arriving in the last week of September.

One interesting detail is Macan Electric's MPGe rating. At 98 MPGe for the base model and 91 MPGe for the Turbo, it's actually more efficient than any of the Taycan models, despite being a larger vehicle.

While the Macan Electric might not be the cheapest EV on the block, its combination of range, performance, and quick charging makes it a compelling option for those looking for a luxurious and practical electric crossover.
