RAM says the 1500 BEV truck is coming in the Fall of 2022
In a not-so-subtle dig at Ford on Twitter, RAM has announced that the 1500 BEV truck is coming in the Fall of 2022. That puts the production of the RAM's first all-electric truck much sooner than what earlier reports had us believe.
The tweet carries the subliminal message that RAM is stealing some thunder from Ford's F-150 Lightning, which is set to start shipping to the first customers this week.
The RAM 1500 BEV, seen in a previous teaser below, will run on the STLA platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. It can accommodate battery packs in the 159 kWh to 200 kWh range and supports 800V charging.
Some rumors have suggested that the range of the 1500 BEV can be as much as 800 km (500 miles), which is above and beyond what Ford's F-150 Lightning can achieve from its 131 kWh battery pack.
