Scania unveils new line of trucks with up to 320km range
Scania just unveiled its new line of fully electric trucks that will start shipping in Q4 of 2023.
The trucks will offer a 624kWh battery with a hypothetical range of up to 320km - depending on the load weight, route, topography, and climate.
The trucks will come in either a 4x2 tractor-trailer or a 6x2x4 rigid truck configuration and will do up to 320km with a 40-tonne load and up to 230km with the maximum of 64 tonnes. The rigid truck configuration will come with R or S sleeper cabs.
The trucks have a 410kW (550hp) powertrain, which will provide the needed electromechanical power take-off.
The battery pack can recharge to full in just 90 minutes, using CCS2 375kW charging. This way the trucks would make good returns during a driver's mandated 45-minute rest period.
Scania isn't revealing prices but asks interested parties to get in touch with a Scania representative.

I do believe, the future of truck and even for personal transportation is not electric but hydrogen which we need to invest in R&D as we are 100 years far too late. Hydrogen is the way to go for long term as battery is only for short term and not...

Aint much for a trucks. 320 KM nothing of sort of. If they had to go for example from Spain to Ukraine the trip will take many weeks. Only charging the battery on every petrol station takes at least 4-8 hours.
