Tesla's $59,990 Cybertruck is now $74,990

Remember the $59,990 Cybertruck? Tesla would rather you don't. This price was the starting point for the Cybertruck for a few days in February before it went up to $69,990. And today Tesla has hiked it again to $74,990.

The Premium All-Wheel-Drive Cybertruck has also been made more expensive, from $79,990 to $84,990. Only the Tri-Motor Performance Cybertruck has been left alone for now, with its $99,990 starting price.

It's unclear why Tesla decided to do this now, or whether the price hikes are tied to demand for the Cybertruck. It's probably not that, though, as the Cybertruck has obviously been less popular than Tesla wanted it to be.

The company's production capacity for it is more than 125,000 units per year, but estimates suggest it only sold around 20,000 last year, down from 39,000 in 2024. Of course, expanding its availability to more markets would help, but even so, this doesn't seem to be a product that people can't wait to get their hands on. It's more like a niche offering that suits some people very well, and most people not at all.
