The Buick Electra E5 SUV to debut in China next week

The Buick Electra E5 SUV is a highly-anticipated fully-electric vehicle in China as it's a joint venture between GM and SAIC. The car is scheduled to be fully unveiled next week on April 13. However, the car isn't a complete mystery as there's already plenty of information available.

The Electra E5 is expected to arrive in three tiers - standard, long-range and Avenir AWD options. As per documents from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle features CLTC batteries with 620km of range, achieving an impressive 13.5 kWh per 100km consumption.

Since the car is based on the Ultium platform, the four-wheel drive version features an 8-in-1 drive system with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front and an asynchronous induction motor at the back. The Avenir AWD iteration also packs an 80 kWh battery.
