Toyota unveils two new EVs: the bZ3C and bZ3X
Toyota has consistently been one of the most EV-averse car makers out there, so far only making two EVs in the form of the bZ4X and bZ3, but the company is slowly warming up to the idea of offering more models.
Today at the Beijing Auto Show, Toyota has introduced two new models, the bZ3C and bZ3X. And when we say "introduced", we mean exhibited on the show floor. The company was also kind enough to publish some official images for them, and that's it - no specs, no pricing, no release timeline, nothing like that.
What we do know is that these models are developed specifically to cater to Chinese customers, something more and more non-Chinese car brands are starting to do, considering how competitive the Chinese car market is.
Toyota Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Hiroki Nakajima said: "What kind of BEV would bring smiles to the faces of our Chinese customers? Working with our partners in China, this quest led us to the bZ3C and the bZ3X".
The bZ3C was developed by Toyota in partnership with BYD, and it's apparently designed around the concept of a reboot. It's billed by the brand as a "dynamic, distinctively styled crossover BEV" which "focuses on features that create a fun personal space for younger Generation Z customers".
The bZ3X was developed by Toyota in partnership with Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC). It's a "family-oriented SUV-type BEV" that offers "a large interior space based on the concept of providing a mobile Cozy Home", which you'll need if you're caught in traffic a lot, presumably.
Both models are said to come with "the latest driver-assistance systems and smart cockpits", in order to deliver "safe, comfortable driving" alongside value for money.
Hopefully more details about them will arrive shortly.

If you look at their first EV concept, this looks pretty much identical to it. Which is kinda sad, they are going with SUVs as their first EVs. Something like EV Prius would be much more appreciated and hopefully a competition to Model 3.
