Xiaomi EV sales will blend direct management with franchise dealerships

Xiaomi will be opting for a hybrid sales approach for its EVs with a mix of directly managed stores and dealerships. This decision was confirmed in the aftermath of the SU7 debut, the company's first electric car.

Xiaomi inked agreements with 14 sales and service partners, which will help it accelerate the establishment of sales and service channels.

This innovative approach diverges from the path trodden by many Chinese electric car manufacturers, inspired by Tesla's direct sales model. Xiaomi EV's decision to include dealerships will let more people experience the vehicles before deciding to buy them.

Xiaomi SU7, unveiled on December 28, is the first step of the company's ambitious plan to become a global top-five automaker. We'll certainly be following this one closely.

This feels similar to the approach they took with Mi stores... where you had licensed partners opening up mi stores but also their own stores
