Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro confirms big range improvement in latest test
The latest video by Bjørn Nyland, a popular YouTube creator focusing on electric cars, tests the range of the all-new Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro. The Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro demonstrates significant improvement in efficiency compared to the Audi e-tron. This is attributed to a new permanent magnet rear motor and an induction front motor, replacing the dual induction motors of the e-tron, which were deemed less efficient.
Due to the increased efficiency, the Q6 e-tron was expected to achieve a considerably longer range than the e-tron. During the test Nyland calculated the range to be 324 miles at 56 mph and 251 miles at 75 mph. He estimates a potential range of close to 373 miles on a future drive test he plans to conduct.
The Q6 e-tron boasts an impressive charging speed, reaching up to 285 kW during the video test. This is significantly faster than the e-tron's charging speed. The video highlights a revamped infotainment system that is easier to use and more intuitive than the system in the e-tron.
Nyland praised the Q6 e-tron for its comfortable ride quality, superior to both the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Tesla Model Y, according to him. During the video he also encounters a minor glitch with the charging port, getting stuck and requiring force to open. This might be an isolated incident and hopefully not a recurring problem.
Bjørn Nyland is impressed with the Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro, considering it a significant improvement over the e-tron. He highlights the car's efficiency, potential long range, fast charging capabilities, improved infotainment system, and comfortable ride as key strengths. While the price tag is hefty, starting at around 800,000 NOK (approximately $87,000), it might be a compelling option for those looking for a luxurious and efficient electric SUV.

The Q6 e-tron can go farther on a single charge than the e-tron, like maybe around 600 km. That's pretty cool if you ask me!
