BYD Denza N9 unveiled in official photos

BYD is about to unveil its latest offering: the Denza N9 SUV. This full-size luxury SUV is built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and is designed to challenge established players like the Li Auto L9 and the Aito M9.

The Denza N9 has a striking exterior with a layered front fascia and a prominent Denza logo. A roof-mounted LiDAR hints at advanced driver-assistance features, while the side mirrors are clearly digital. The SUV's square body outline, hidden door handles, and multi-spoke rims contribute to its modern and sophisticated aesthetic.

The power comes from BYD's e3 "Yisanfang" three-electric-motor system. This setup consists of a front AC asynchronous motor (230 kW/308 hp) and two rear permanent magnet synchronous motors (240 kW/322 hp each). If these specifications are correct, we are looking at a 952 horsepower SUV - we'll have to wait for the official unveiling to confirm the numbers.

With a length of 208.7 inches, the N9 lands firmly in the full-size SUV category. It offers a spacious and interior with a smart cockpit, and even an onboard refrigerator with both cooling and heating capabilities.

The N9 is part of Denza's ambitious product plan to launch eight new models within the next three years. This lineup includes three SUVs (N7, N8, and N9), the D9 MPV, and three mid-to-high-end sedans. The Denza N9 is expected to launch later this year, in both pure electric and plug-in hybrid variants.

Denza, a high-end brand under BYD, has been steadily gaining momentum. In September 2024, it sold 10,299 vehicles, marking a 2.4% increase month-over-month. From January to September this year, Denza delivered a total of 90,193 vehicles.
