DS Automobiles reveals custom N°4 concept EV
The 2026 Brussels Motor Show started with a bang as DS Automobiles pulled the curtain back on a special new project. This striking vehicle is called the "Taylor made N°4 Concept." It is a one-of-a-kind design study created with the help of Taylor Barnard, a rising star in the racing world. Barnard recently joined the DS PENSKE Formula E Team, and this car celebrates his arrival. As usual with a majority of concept vehicles, this specific model is a design exercise that highlights the brand's focus on electric cars and high-tech style.
The concept takes the standard DS N°4 and gives it a major makeover. The designers at DS DESIGN STUDIO worked closely with Barnard to make sure the car reflected his personality. The young British driver drew inspiration from both professional racing and video games. The result is a car that looks like it belongs on a digital track as much as a real road. It features a lowered body and wider tracks, giving it a very aggressive and sporty stance.

One of the most interesting parts of the "Taylor made N°4 Concept" is the use of titanium. "Pure Titanium" paint covers parts of the body for a clean finish, while "Liquid Titanium" adds a shiny, reflective touch. The car even uses a special "Craft Titanium" fabric. This crinkled material replaces traditional carbon fiber on the lower parts of the car, like the front splitter and side skirts. Finally, "Black Titanium" covers the roof and the rear spoiler to give the car a bold, dark contrast.
Small details make this car stand out even more. The mirrors and wheels feature "Light Gold" accents, which is the signature color for the DS performance line. You can also find splashes of purple, which is Taylor Barnard's favorite color, on the door handles. If you look closely at the hood and the lighting near the back, you will see the number 77. This is Barnard's lucky racing number. The front of the car also has a futuristic "pixel" headlight design and a large "N°4" logo right in the center of the grille.

The concept might have been the star of the show, but DS also shared news about the production version of the EV. The DS N°4 E-TENSE is the fully electric model that people can actually buy. This car has a 158 kW motor that produces 213 hp. It uses a 58.3 kWh battery that allows it to travel up to 280 miles on a single charge. It is quite quick for a daily driver, too, reaching 62 mph in just 7.1 seconds. The car measures 14.44 ft long and 6 ft wide, making it a great size for city driving.
For buyers not ready to go 100% battery-powered, there is a plug-in hybrid version that offers between 225 hp and 240 hp. It can drive for 50 miles using only electricity before the gas engine kicks in. The hybrid model has 145 hp and can drive in electric mode for about half the time when you are in the city. It has a huge total range of 620 miles.

The interior of these cars is packed with smart technology. Owners can use an app to check their car's battery from their phone or schedule charging times. The car even uses a heat pump to keep the battery at the right temperature, helping it charge faster in cold weather.
If you cannot make it to the Brussels Motor Show to see the car in person, you might still get a chance to "drive" it. DS Automobiles is partnering with the game Driving Empire on the Roblox platform. Sometime in 2026, players will be able to find the "Taylor made N°4 Concept" in the game. This will let fans around the world experience the car's unique design and colors in a virtual world.
