Kia's compact all-electric SUV, the EV5, is now available in showrooms across New Zealand, which means we now have the full specs for at least one of the variants. For those unaware, Kia provided general specs when announcing the vehicle, but now we have more detailed ones.

We are looking at the Light Long Range version available in New Zealand, but since this is the international model we are talking about, not the Chinese version, we have every reason to believe that most specs will be matched across the US and European variants.

We are pleasantly surprised to see a bigger battery than initially advertised. The AWD LR trim gets an 88.1 kWh LFP battery capable of spinning the wheels for 336 miles (according to WLTP). The electric motor outputs 160 kW with a maximum torque of 310 Nm, while the battery can be charged at up to 141 kW using a fast DC charger.

This trim in particular also gets 18-inch wheels, smart cruise control along with Highway Driving Assist 2.0 and cloth seats. The central 12.3-inch infotainment screen is joined by a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a smaller 5-inch HVAC display and 6-speaker sound system.

The local price for the vehicle is $67,990, but this will, of course, vary wildly depending on the market.
