Lucid Gravity debuts tonight - watch it here live

It’s been a while since Lucid mentioned Gravity, its all electric SUV. The company managed somehow to keep it under wraps and not many leaks appeared over the two years since one of the prototypes was spotted testing in California.

Well, now the marketing machine kicked into high gear and Lucid announced the official debut of Gravity will take place later on today. The company took to Twitter and shared a short video teaser of the upcoming SUV:

What can we expect? Gravity is built on the same platform as Lucid Air and the two will share battery and powertrains which brings a tantalizing prospect of Gravity Sapphire... at some point in the future. It’s not certain we’ll see the Pure entry model since it is only RWD, it is possible the Gravity will start with Touring trim.

The Touring version will share the AWD dual-motor setup with the Air sedan. It means 620hp and 88kWh battery pack. The range won’t match 652km that Air achieves, but we are yet to see how much lower it will go. We can expect sub-4 seconds 0 to 100 km/h sprint and tons of room and comfort. That version will annihilate Mercedes EQS SUV 580 4MATIC off the line.

If the Grand Touring option makes its appearance, it will have 819hp to play with coupled with the larger 112kWh battery. This model will have its work cut out as it will be competing with Rivian R1S Quad Motor.

Since this is a brand-new vehicle from Lucid we can actually expect a Dream edition to follow in the footsteps of the Air. The 1,111hp Gravity would be snapped up in no time at all and if it does appear in the lineup tonight, it will steal the show.

We will have all our questions answered soon enough. The show starts at 6pm GMT or 10am PT or 1pm ET. If you are a fan of Lucid, make sure you put everything else down, sit back and enjoy:
