Mercedes-Benz gives its electric cars a boost with new update

Mercedes-Benz is making its electric cars even smarter and easier to use. The German car maker is sending out a big update to two million vehicles around the world. This update, called MBUX 2.6, adds new features that will help drivers navigate better, especially those driving electric vehicles.

One of the neatest additions is the Google Satellite View. It shows real pictures of the roads and buildings around in great detail. This makes it simpler to find a way, especially when driving in the countryside where there aren't many signs. If the car already has the "Satellite View" option, it will update automatically.
For drivers of EVs, Mercedes-Benz is adding something called Live Alternative Routes for Navigation with Electric Intelligence. This smart system figures out the best way to get to where you're going, and it includes any stops needed to charge a car. It looks at things like how far you need to drive, how much traffic there is, and how long it will take to charge. This helps EV drivers choose the quickest and most efficient route. This feature works on electric cars that have the second-generation MBUX system.

Mercedes-Benz is also making its voice assistant even smarter by adding ChatGPT technology. From now on, you can ask it about anything, from what's happening in the news to facts about science or history. It can even understand when you ask follow-up questions. This feature is now available in three million Mercedes-Benz vehicles, even older ones with the first MBUX system.
For those who love driving off-road in their new G 580, Mercedes-Benz has a new feature called Offroad Track. This is part of an app called Mercedes-Benz Stories. It lets drivers find and share their favorite off-road routes. You can even record videos of your adventures using your phone, and the car will record information like how steep the hill is, how fast you're going, and where you are. Then, you can put the video and the information together to make a cool video to share with other drivers. This Offroad Track feature works in cars with the second-generation MBUX.
