Cheapest Tesla Cybertruck version is dead

Vlad, 15 September 2025

Tesla launched the cheapest version of the Cybertruck back in April. The Long Range RWD Cybertruck started at $70,000. It was still more expensive than the initially promised $61,000 price, but significantly cheaper than the next available version, which goes for $80,000.

Today, the Long Range RWD Cybertruck is no more. Tesla has quietly discontinued it, erasing any trace that it ever existed from its website. Now, the entry-level Cybertruck is the All-Wheel Drive version.

This one starts at $79,990, but maybe you can still get the $7,500 federal tax credit if you act fast - it ends on September 30. This one comes with 325 miles of range and 11,000 lbs (4,989 kg) towing capacity, as well as a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.1 seconds.

Because of its super fast discontinuation, we can probably safely assume that the RWD model was selling even worse than the other two versions. Perhaps that's not a giant surprise, since it was lacking adaptive suspension, the rear light bar, the rear screen, the bed outlets, and the powered tonneau cover. These removals undoubtedly helped get the price down to that level, but clearly haven't helped convince people to buy this trim.
