Zeekr 001 returns with 912 hp, 7-minute charging

Zeekr's 001 fastback was once the company's star player, but recently has been overshadowed by newer EVs, including Zeekr's own 007 sedan. After a minor update earlier this year failed to reclaim the spotlight, the company is rolling out a heavily updated 2025 Zeekr 001.
The biggest changes for this electric liftback are under the skin, starting with an all-new 900V electrical platform. This upgrade from the previous 800V system is the key to the car's impressive new performance figures. The top-end all-wheel-drive model now comes with a total output of 680 kW (912 horsepower) from its dual electric motors.

This allows the family-sized car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.83 seconds and reach a top speed of 174 mph. For drivers who don't need supercar-like acceleration, a rear-wheel-drive version is available with a single 370 kW (489 hp) motor, which is still plenty quick, hitting 62 mph in 4.98 seconds.
One of the most significant advantages of the new 900V system is its charging speed. The AWD model with a 95 kWh "Golden Brick" battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in seven minutes. This version offers a CLTC-rated range of 441 miles.

Buyers can also choose a larger 103 kWh CATL Qilin battery, which pushes the AWD model's range to 473 miles. The RWD model comes standard with this larger battery, giving it a maximum CLTC range of 503 miles. It charges from 10% to 80% in a still-impressive 10 minutes.
Zeekr has also invested heavily in revamping the interior, dubbing the new concept the "Starry Sky Concert Hall." The dashboard is dominated by a huge 16-inch central touchscreen that can swivel up to 30 degrees. This is paired with a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver and a massive 39.3-inch augmented-reality head-up display that projects key information directly onto the windshield.

The cabin is trimmed in premium materials like Nappa leather and suede. The standout feature, however, is the sunroof. Apparently, a simple glass roof is no longer enough. This one uses 500 embedded light units to create digital constellation patterns that twinkle and even display shooting stars, all controlled from an 8-inch screen available to rear passengers.
The rear seats can now recline up to 125 degrees and are equipped with both a legrest and a footrest for maximum relaxation. For an added touch of luxury, the front seats offer 20 massage points, while the rear seats have 12.

Underneath, the 2025 Zeekr 001 gets a new chassis with a "CCD Electromagnetic Damping System," a smart suspension that actively adjusts to road conditions for a smoother ride. It also comes with advanced safety features, including an emergency avoidance system that can automatically steer around obstacles at up to 81 mph and a tire blowout protection system that can keep the car stable at speeds up to 75 mph.
The interior and powertrain are radically different, but the exterior of the Zeekr 001 remains largely unchanged, keeping its sleek liftback design. It still is the same large EV at 195.9 inches long, 78.7 inches wide, and 60.8 inches tall, with a generous 118.3 inches wheelbase. Customers can personalize their vehicle with various color-matching options for the logos, spoiler, mirrors, and brake calipers.

The first updated units of the 001 are already arriving in Zeekr showrooms across China, with the official launch and first deliveries scheduled for October 11th. The company is offering an early-bird discount for those who place an RMB 2,000 (about $280) deposit, which will then be upgraded to an RMB 7,000 (about $980) reduction in the final purchase price.
