New all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC goes on sale starting from €71,000

Mercedes-Benz has officially rolled out its all-new, all-electric GLC, one of the most important new EVs to hit the market. The combustion-engine GLC has been the brand's best-selling vehicle worldwide for a very long time, and now the German automaker hopes to repeat that success with a battery-powered version designed from the ground up to lead the way in versatility and premium experience.

The new electric GLC is ready for order now in most of Europe, and Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the electric version is priced right alongside its gasoline counterpart. German customers can place orders starting October 29, 2025, with a list price starting at $83,506.

Mercedes is offering attractive monthly leasing options for private customers, starting as low as $556 to further sweeten the deal. The company is clearly putting its best foot forward to capture the hearts and wallets of drivers looking to make the leap to zero-emission driving.

The new GLC comes with some bold promises - the main one is to erase any concerns about an electric vehicle's ability to handle daily life. The GLC 400 4MATIC version has a powerful 360 kW twin-motor powertrain and an impressive electric range of up to 444 miles on a full charge. It won't be long before we find out how close that promise comes to real-life results.

Running out of juice is less of an issue with the GLC's 800 V technology. This advanced electric system allows the battery to recharge up to 188 miles of range in only ten minutes - providing you can find the correct DC charger. The SUV also sets a high standard for efficiency with a consumption of only 14.9 kWh/62 miles.

The new design of the all-electric GLC is both familiar and strikingly modern. Built on EV-dedicated architecture, the vehicle keeps the iconic shape of the GLC while adding extra touches, such as a redesigned, illuminated, and animated chrome grille that immediately tells you this is a high-tech electric car.

Inside, Mercedes focuses on a "Welcome Home" feeling of comfort. Passengers benefit from a larger cabin thanks to a wheelbase that is 3.31 inches longer than the combustion model. Front passengers get 1.81 inches more headroom, and those in the back enjoy 1.85 inches more legroom.

The versatility also shines in the cargo area, which offers a generous 20.1 ft³ of space with the rear seats up, expanding to a massive 61.4 ft³ when folded down. An additional 128-l front trunk, or "frunk," adds practical storage space and opens via a touch control. The vehicle also features a towing capacity of up to 5,291 lb.

Technology takes center stage in the new Mercedes, delivering a seamless digital and physical experience. The optional MBUX Hyperscreen measures nearly 100 cm across, creating an immersive digital dashboard. The experience continues with comfort features like the AIRMATIC air suspension and 4.5-degree rear-axle steering, ensuring both a smooth and agile ride.

Mercedes doesn't cut any corners on safety with features like the Distance Assist DISTRONIC, and the vehicle incorporates up to ten cameras and five radar sensors to support its systems. Environmentally conscious buyers have the option to go for the "Vegan Package" - a new standard with an independently certified vegan interior, including animal-free soft-touch materials.

The electric GLC's arrival is a clear turning point in the mid-size SUV segment, merging the legacy of a brand bestseller with the cutting-edge performance, range, and efficiency of a modern electric car. No more "EQ" monikers, no more confusing and questionable design choices - the GLC, just like its sibling CLA, starts a new chapter in Mercedes' history.
