Google begins Personal Intelligence rollout for Android Auto
Google is bringing its Personal Intelligence for Gemini to Android Auto. The feature, which was announced back in January, connects your user information from Google’s first-party apps (Search, Photos, Gmail, etc.) and uses that info to give you contextual answers to multi-step questions during conversations. The feature remains optional so you can choose not to activate it if you are not okay with Gemini having access to your personal user data.
Personal Intelligence is rolling out to Android Auto first and Android Automotive cars in the coming months. According to Google’s blog post, the feature is rolling out globally to “eligible personal Google accounts” for users aged 18 and older, excluding the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria.
In related news, iOS users are getting access to Gemini inside Google Maps for CarPlay. The feature has been rolling out to users for some time now.
Gemini inside Google Maps on CarPlay
Users will now see a Gemini icon inside Google Maps on CarPlay, which brings up the AI assistant. From there, they can access all of Gemini's key features directly from Maps.
