Peugeot introduces more affordable E-308 E Style

Peugeot is stretching its EV portfolio with its latest offering, the E-308 E Style. This special trim comes to make the thrill of electric driving accessible to a wider audience, starting at a slightly more affordable $44,340 before any incentives.

The E-308 E Style is based on the previous lowest trim - the Active Pack trim level. It features three-material TEP/fabric seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Dual-zone automatic climate control enhanced by a heat pump and Bluetooth connectivity are also standard as is the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit UI for the 10-inch digital instrument cluster and 10-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on board as well as an electric parking brake and LED headlamps.

The E-308 E Style features a single electric motor that produces 156 horsepower (115 kW) and 199 lb-ft. The 54 kWh battery (51 kWh usable) provides a range of up to 258 miles on the WLTP combined cycle.

The E-308 E Style reatins the 11 kW onboard charger for AC top-ups and support for up to 100 kW DC charging. A quick 30-minute charge with the latter can replenish the battery from 20% to 80%.

With the E-308 E Style Peugeot lowers the pricing of one of its most popular EV models, hoping to boost its sales. Unfortunately, the competition is quite fierce, and the E-308 needs to face the likes of the Tesla Model 3 - a much bigger, much faster, and comparably priced EV. Even Peugeot's technical twin, the Citroen e-C4, undercuts the new E Style version by over $5,400 before any local incentives come into play. So, is the new E-Style more affordable? Sure. Is it affordable, though? That's a different story entirely.

That's only for the battery ... so who cares, other manufacturers offer even longer warranty on battery and motors.
