Skoda reveals more Elroq details in latest teaser
Today Skoda revealed more about its upcoming all-electric Elroq, scheduled to make its grand debut in the autumn of 2024. Designed for both urban commutes and suburban adventures, the Elroq will be the first Skoda model to sport the brand's new Modern Solid design language.
While exact dimensions are yet to be revealed, Skoda promises a spacious and comfortable interior with ample storage. The Elroq's cargo capacity will rangefrom a generous 16.6 ft³ to a vast 55.8 ft³ with the rear seats folded.
The Elroq will offer four powertrain options when it arrives later this year. Ranging from 125 kW in the base 50 model, to a more potent 220 kW in the 85x version. The latter option includes a dual-motor setup for all-wheel drive we already know from Enyaq 85x. Skoda claims a maximum range of over 348 miles (WLTP cycle) thanks to the 82 kWh battery, putting it on par with many of its electric SUV competitors.
The 50, 60, 85, and 85x versions of Elroq will differ in battery capacity and power output, catering to a broad range of driving needs and preferences. The base Elroq 50 features a 55 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive, while the top-tier Elroq 85x boasts an 82 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. All Elroq variants support DC fast charging, with the Elroq 85 and 85x going up to 175 kW rates, allowing for a 10-80% charge in under 28 minutes.
The new Modern Solid design language features a minimalist aesthetic. The Elroq's front end, featuring a glossy black "Tech-Deck Face" in place of the traditional grille, is a bold departure from previous Škoda models. The brand's logo, typically placed on the hood, has been replaced with Skoda lettering.
Although Skoda didn't share any images of the interior, we are promised it follows the minimalist theme of the exterior. There's a 5-inch driver's display, an optional head-up display and a 13-inch infotainment screen with promises of simplified menu and control interface. Skoda, of course, uses sustainable, durable materials for its interior, reflecting a growing trend in the automotive industry toward eco-friendly design.
The new electric SUV from Skoda comes with a new version of Travel Assist that uses swarm data for enhanced performance. The Intelligent Park Assist offers both Remote Parking and Remote Trained Parking functions, allowing you to control parking maneuvers remotely via their smartphone. The Elroq also features up to nine airbags for enhanced safety.
Official pricing will be confirmed closer to the Elroq's market launch.
