The Rimac Nevera is officially the fastest production EV

Ivan, 15 November 2022

The Rimac Nevera has completed a speed run that saw it capture the record for the fastest production EV in the world.

The Rimac team, with Miro Zrnčevic Chief Test and Development Driver at the wheel, drove the Nevera at the ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg track in Germany at a top speed of 412km/h (or 256 mph) to claim the record.

The oval track has 4km of straights, which were necessary for the Nevera to reach the record-breaking 412km/h speed.

The Nevera had road-legal Michelin Cup 2R rubber on, while the speed was verified by the Racelogic V-Box GPS measurement kit.

Rimac' Nevera already claims to be the fastest production EV over a quarter-mile with an independently-tested 8.852s run.

Still, while topping the production EV charts, the 412km/h run was only enough for fourth place in the production car top speed list, which is currently led by the Koenigsegg Agera RS and its 447.19km/h (277.87 mph) achievement.
