The Skoda Peaq is a huge new electric SUV for big families
Skoda showed off a new car that looks like it ate a whole lot of its vitamins. It's called the Skoda Peaq and it is a giant, fully electric SUV that can carry a lot of people and a lot of gear. Skoda used to make sensible cars that shared parts with Volkswagen, but now, it is making something even bigger and more modern.
Size is the first thing people will notice about this new model. The Skoda Peaq measures 191.9 inches long - that's 8.5 inches longer than the Skoda Enyaq, which was already a fairly large SUV. The wheelbase is 2,965 mm - that's 7.8 inches more than the Enyaq. This extra length means way more room for passengers inside the cabin. It is basically a living room on wheels.

The outside of the car looks modern but not too futuristic. Skoda calls the front end a "Tech-Deck Face." It has slim LED Matrix headlights that look like sharp eyes. If you want the car to look a bit meaner, you can get the Sportline trim. This version adds black parts to the outside and 21-inch alloy wheels. The doors are very large, and the handles sit flush against the body.
Inside, buyers have some choices to make. You can get the Skoda Peaq with five or seven seats. If you pick the five-seat version, you get a trunk that holds 35.7 ft³ of cargo - enough room for a mountain of suitcases. If you need seven seats for a big family, the trunk shrinks to 10.6 ft³ when all the seats are up. Both versions come with a small 37-liter storage spot under the hood, a great place to put charging cables so they do not get your groceries dirty.

Inside, a big 13.6-inch touchscreen sits in the middle of the dash to control the music and maps. You can even get a HUD that projects directions onto the windshield so you do not have to look down. The coolest part might be the roof - the biggest glass roof Skoda has ever made. It uses tech that lets you change it from clear to dark with a press of a button, keeping the sun from cooking your head on a hot day.
Skoda claims it uses more than 110 lb of recycled materials inside the cabin of every Peaq. You can choose seats made from animal-free materials or real leather if you prefer. The famous "Simply Clever" features are still here - small things like umbrellas hidden in the doors or ice scrapers in the trunk.

The Skoda Peaq comes in three different versions depending on how much power you want. The basic version is called the 60 and it has a single electric motor in the back that makes 201 hp. This version has a 63 kWh battery and can travel more than 286 miles on a full charge. It is a solid choice for people who want to switch to electric cars without spending too much money. If you go for the models with the big battery, you can charge from 10% to 80% in under 28 minutes.
If you regularly go on long road trips, you will want the 90 or 90x models. These use a much larger 91 kWh battery and can travel over 373 miles before you need to plug them in. The 90 model has a 282 hp electric motor powering the rear wheels. But the 90x is the king of the mountain here. It has two motors and all-wheel drive. It delivers 295 hp and can go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds - pretty fast for a heavy SUV that looks like a small bus.

The car will be built in the Czech Republic at the Mlada Boleslav factory. When it arrives in mid-2026, it will have to fight other big electric cars like the Kia EV9 and the Volvo EX90. The Peaq proves that electric Skodas are now big enough for the whole family and all their hobby gear.
