Toyota teases new three-row electric SUV
Toyota is getting ready to grow its family of electric cars with a big surprise. The company shared the first look inside its upcoming three-row SUV. This new model will officially debut on February 10, 2026, and while the company is keeping some secrets, we now know for sure that this EV is designed for big families who need lots of room.
We’ve been wondering for quite a while now if Toyota would ever make an electric version of its famous Highlander. Looking at the new pictures, it seems like that is exactly what is happening. In the teaser photos, you can clearly see three rows of seats. This is a big deal because Toyota’s current largest electric model, the bZ Woodland, only has two rows and measures 190.2 inches long.

The outside of this new vehicle has a boxy shape. It looks a lot like the gas-powered Grand Highlander, which is over 200 inches long. To give you an idea of the size, the standard Highlander is roughly 195 inches long. The new EV will likely fit right into that large SUV category, giving parents plenty of space for kids, pets, and groceries.
The interior looks very modern. It features a large touchscreen that sticks out from the dashboard, similar to the 14-inch screens found in the new Toyota bZ and C-HR models. This screen will handle everything from music to maps. Passengers in the middle row even get their own controls to change the temperature, so no one has to argue about being too hot or too cold. One of the coolest features shown is a massive glass roof. It lets in a lot of natural light, making the cabin feel even bigger.

Toyota plans to build this new three-row SUV at its factory in Georgetown, Kentucky. This is part of a big plan to make more EVs in the United States. The company originally wanted to start sooner in Indiana, but they moved production to Kentucky to make sure they could build enough of them. Of course, there’s also a plan to make a similar version for Subaru at the same factory.
We are still waiting for the official numbers on speed and battery life, but there is already a lot of excitement. The current bZ Woodland has 375 horsepower and can travel about 260 miles on a single charge. Since this new SUV is bigger, it might need an even larger battery to help it go long distances without stopping to plug in.

Toyota is also using a NACS charging port - the same one that Tesla uses. It means that when this SUV hits the road, owners will be able to use thousands of fast chargers across the country. Charging from 10% to 80% should take about 30 minutes under the right conditions.
The wait is almost over. On February 10, Toyota will show the world the entire vehicle and tell us exactly what it can do. This launch is a major step for Toyota as it tries to catch up to the rest of the EV field. After years of teasing, it looks like the ultimate electric family hauler is finally arriving.
