Toyota unveils 2026 C-HR EV for North America

Today, Toyota officially introduces the new 2026 C-HR battery EV for the North American market, describing it as "a bold entry in its electrified lineup".
The C-HR has all-wheel drive, 338 hp, and an estimated 0 to 60 mph time of around 5 seconds. It uses a 74.7 kW battery which will give it an estimated range of 290 miles. It has the NACS port built-in, and going from 10% to 80% should take around 30 minutes on a Level Three DC charging station "under ideal conditions".

Toyota says it has a "coupe-like SUV profile". It's built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform, "with chassis tuning that complements its spirited output", whatever that means.

Inside there's a 14-inch infotainment screen that runs the Toyota Audio Multimedia system. You get two wireless phone chargers in the center console, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, and 4G connectivity built-in (with 30 days or 3GB for free when you receive the car).

With Wi-Fi Connect, you have an Integrated Streaming feature that lets you link separate Apple Music and Amazon Music subscriptions to the car. Toyota also gives you a lot of features as trials - for example, Remote Connect in the Toyota app, included as a three-year trial. This lets you activate headlights, unlock the rear hatch, and control the temperature inside. It's unclear what happens after the three years pass, but we assume you'll need to then pay to access these features.

The C-HR has a powered liftgate and low-profile roof rails. It's 177.9 inches long, 73.6 inches wide, 63.8 inches tall, and has a wheelbase of 108.3 inches. Trunk space is up to 25.4 ft³.
The C-HR will reach Toyota dealerships in 2026. It comes with a three-year or 36,000 miles warranty. The powertrain is covered by a five-year warranty with a 60,000 miles limit. The "EV driving components", including the battery, are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
