2025 Voyah Dreamer gets a Huawei-powered makeover

The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Voyah has unveiled an updated version of its Dreamer MPV for the 2025 model year. The facelift, which was revealed on August 15, brings significant upgrades to the car's capabilities, largely driven by a collaboration with tech giant Huawei. The 2025 Voyah Dreamer pre-sales are set to begin on August 28.

The most obvious change in comparison to the previous Dreamer, is the redesigned front grille. While it retains the same overall shape, the grille now boasts 34 vertical chrome strips, in a nod to the 34 provinces and autonomous regions of China. Chrome accents also adorn the front lip and air intakes. High-spec models feature a LiDAR unit mounted atop the windshield, enabling the more advanced driver-assistance systems within. The car's dimensions have been subtly tweaked, with a slight increase in length and height, but the wheelbase remains the same at 126 inches.

The 2025 Dreamer uses Voyah's Lanhai power system, offering both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric powertrain options. The PHEV variant delivers an impressive engine thermal efficiency of 45.18% too.

Inside, the Dreamer's interior receives a comprehensive upgrade. Voyah claims that third-row legroom has been increased by 10%, and the third-row seats now offer improved backrests and shoulder support. The cockpit gets the full Huawei treatment, featuring the HarmonyOS connected infotainment. A refrigerator with a heating function is also on the list of creature comforts.

The biggest change, however, lies in the adoption of Huawei's latest smart driving solution, the Qiankun ADS 3.0. This system brings significant enhancements to the Dreamer's ADAS capabilities. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system now operates at speeds up to 93 mph and supports rear and side collision avoidance. It can recognize pedestrians, motorcycles, and oncoming traffic. In extreme situations, the system can even autonomously avoid obstacles while braking.

The ADS 3.0's road recognition has been improved through cloud and real-vehicle training. This system promisess to understand and respond to complex driving scenarios like an experienced human driver. It also supports a wider range of parking scenarios, with 160 different setups now available. These advanced ADAS features are possible thanks to a suite of 27 sensors, including high-definition cameras and mmWave radars. New to the Dreamer is a 192-line Lidar unit from Huawei, further enhancing the car's perception capabilities.
