2025 Zeekr 001 interior, design and features review
As Zeekr is slowly expanding globally, we got the chance to put our hands on some of its most desirable products. Zeekr is part of the Chinese automotive giant Geely, and is already available in a dozen of overseas markets with more expected to follow soon.
The Zeekr 001 is, as the number suggests, the company’s first model and it has become a massive success. We got to spend some time with its updated 2025 AWD version, which is currently only available in China, and here's what we thought of it.
Exterior
From the outside, the 001 looks modern and futuristic with multiple edges and sharp angles. It has a distinct look, especially around the back where it is sort of a mix between a coupe, sedan and a station wagon.
The daylights are Geely’s other company - Lynk&Co, which is focused more on affordable models. However, the two vertical LED stripes create a memorable look and fit the design nicely. The main headlights remain hidden in the bumper, mounted low and with a wide housing.
On the side, the wing mirrors have a turquoise LED stripe instead of the traditional amber or white ones. That is to indicate when the car's in self-driving mode. If the 001 is moving in autonomous mode, it will light up the turquoise lights.
The test model packs massive 21" wheels, equipped with what is arguably the best performing tyre short of a semi-slick - the Continental SportContact 7. This underlines Zeekr's sporty ambitions and how the car should not only be comfortable but also corner precisely. This is a feat most EVs are happily sacrificing for the sake of efficiency.

The tail lights are fitted into one giant LED housing but instead of the single strip so many makers are using nowadays, there are multiple vertical slats with various sizes to finish off the distinct lighting situation.
The tail lights look simple, yet distinctive.
Interior
Zeekr is among the most premium brands in the Geely family so the interior is unsurprisingly imrpessive.
The inside looks and feels luxurious, with soft leather and Alcantara all over. Everything you touch is solid and feels like it's going to last a good while before starts showing signs of wear. The combination of light and dark elements in the test model looks amazing and creates a nice visual contrast.
The blue seatbelts are a wild choice that will certainly divide opinions, but everything else is befitting a luxury vehicle.
The seats are heated, ventilated and offer massage up front, which some manufacturers omit even in their flagship models. The seats are also comfortable and soft, with decent side support.
The two-tone steering wheel controls a number of features. One big improvement over the outgoing model is the use of real buttons for the steering wheel controls instead of the previous haptic touch feedback. We can't stress enough how happy we are Zeekr took the feedback about those ill-performing buttons to heart.

The driver's display and head-up unit offer fabulous image quality and perform admirably.
The font and buttons are slightly smaller than ideal, but that is one of few small complaint over what is overall great infotainment system. We hope to review a global model in the near future, focusing more on the capabilities and available functions, as it's undoubtedly going to be different from this Chinese car.
The entire 16-inch infotainment screen can swivel up to 30 degrees. Another welcome upgrade over the outgoing 15.4" fixed unit.
The displays are great, however the writing is a bit small.
The center console and the armrest area feel solid and luxurious. There are five hardware buttons to control key functions, as well as a knob for the audio.
The interior is highly luxurious.
The frameless doors are solid, with excellent craftsmanship. There is a wonderful pattern integrated into the top part, which pairs beautifully with the aluminum accents and speakers. Moreover, if you don't feel like opening or closing the door yourself, you just have to press the door release button and it automatically opens/closes. There are sensors so it won't hit any obstacles, and this elevates luxury to almost Rolls-Royce levels.
You can find the same window controls in most Geely products, yet here they are finished in wonderful glossy aluminum and feel great to use.
The rear seats are roomy, with the giant panoramic sunroof further boosting the spacious feeling. The seat behind the front passenger can be individually moved and adjusted to create even more space and comfort.
Yet, the rear isn't as luxurious as the front. While it offers a bigger 8" display for the rear passengers to control climate settings and enjoy multimedia, there aren’t any extraordinary amenities like some high-end European models offer. Still, the optional pillow is a nice touch.
The panoramic sunroof can display constellations in some trims.
Storage and Practicalities
The trunk is ample a wide opening and low loading height. In standard form it offers 19 ft³ of cargo space, but by folding the rear seats, you can get up to 75.7 ft³ of storage, which is rivaling with most full-size SUVs.
Powertrain and charging
The biggest change brought by the new 2025 Zeekr 001 compared to the initial model of 2021 is the 900V architecture. It allows for much quicker charging, more power and better efficiency. The AWD model we had comes with an impressive 912 horsepower.
Another mesmerizing number is 7, which is the minutes it takes to charge from 10 to 80%. This is if you manage to find a DC charger to output 1,140 kW. That is over a Megawatt of charging power, so not that common, but even with a more popular chargers in the 300-400kW range you will be looking at sub 10 minute times. The CLTC range for the 95 kWh battery pack is 441 miles.
Charging power is one of 001's unique selling points.
Acceleration and Performance
When it comes to performance, the Zeekr 001 is potent enough even in the base RWD version. It has a 370 kW (489 hp) motor, which hits 100 km/h in 4.98 seconds.
The AWD Long Range we have on display is equipped with a total output of 680 kW (912 hp) from its dual electric motors. This power results in a 3.1 second acceleration from 0 to 62 mph. The two Ultra versions can knock that down to 2.8/2.9s.
Verdict
The 2025 Zeekr 001 certainly left us with great first impressions and cannot wait to properly test it back home. The car feels very nice to spend time in. It has all the right ingredients and we are looking forward to it expanding to more European markets.
The new 001 certainly feels more premium than the other Zeekr models and well worthy of its flagship status within the company. The build quality and finish match the looks and perception of a luxury vehicle, whereas the charging capabilities and power figures leave competitors in the dust.
The Zeekr 001 is a great all-around product we want to properly review.
