BYD to supply electric school buses to California schools
Тhe leading Chinese EV maker BYD announced that it's building a fleet of small electric school buses for the Los Olivos Elementary School District in Santa Barbara County, California.
While this isn't the first county to go after a sustainable, environmentally friendly way of transport, the Los Olivos school district is the first one to aim for 100% electrification. It wants all of its buses to be zero-emission.
The bus is named "The Achiever" and it's pretty small. It's built in a BYD factory in California and that same facility is making bigger buses and other types of fully electric vehicles. Unfortunately, even BYD's official website hasn't listed The Achiever and its specs.
ChargePoint, on the other hand, is a current BYD partner and will be taking supplying the needed charging stations for the buses.
