BYD's Yangwang U9 1,300 hp supercar is getting official on February 25

Vlad, 13 February 2024

BYD's premium sub-brand Yangwang is getting ready to make the U9 official, its first supercar. The "U" in the name apparently stands for "Ultimat", in case you were wondering, and no, that's not a typo, there isn't an "e" missing.

The U9 will be fully officially announced on February 25 at an event in China when its price will hopefully be revealed. The car will have four motors each developing 240kW for a total of 960kW or 1,287 hp. The top speed will be limited to 186 mph and 0 to 62 mph acceleration will take less than 2 seconds. Range is expected to be around 435 miles according to the CLTC cycle, which is by far the most optimistic around.

There's apparently a 100 kWh LFP battery pack fitted into the U9's 195.5 inches long, 79.9 inches wide, and 51 inches tall body. The car has a wheelbase of 114.2 inches and weighs 5,456 lb.

As with all of the other Yangwang models, no international availability is planned at the moment. Unlike BYD itself, which mostly relies on dealers for car sales, Yangwang has opened its own stores throughout China, selling directly to consumers.

They should of called it McSlurren as it looks so much like McLaren

Is that exterior patented or what? BTW stop acting like other cars are not very similar to each other.
