Faraday Future is well on schedule for the planned launch of FF91 later this year. With production-intent vehicles being already tested and validated, the company is focusing on bringing the factory online, with the last milestone achieved involving installation of all major mechanical and plumbing systems.

FF is building a highly automated factory, which it hopes will help it compete with the best luxury automakers. Factory should be complete and ready to begin production in July this year and so far every step has been completed on time.

Faraday Future was established in 2014 and from the beginning aimed at the luxury market. Its first model is going to be FF91 manufactured in the new facility in California and it will be followed by a smaller FF81 which will be made in South Korea. The FF91 is intended to be the flagship to introduce customers to the new brand, offering the latest in driving assistance, performance and luxury.

The market is getting tight at the top - we have Tesla S Plaid, we have Lucid Air and now FF91 joins the exclusive club of family cars with over 1,000hp - it gets exactly 1,050hp from its 3 motors and it sprints from 0 to 60mph (96kmh) in 2.39 seconds.

Claimed range is 300 miles (482km) and FF boasts it is the highest energy density battery on the market, although no specifics on the actual capacity are provided. Owners of the FF91 will have access to all public charging stations according to the manufacturer - but it's not necessarily going to be free acsses.

The manufacturer is focusing a lot on AI involvement in the car control, with the car constantly learning the driver’s habits and driving preferences and getting better over time. The comfort is taken very seriously with the rear seats being inspired by NASA and offering a reclined position to evenly distribute the body weight of the passenger.

This is all sounding so far out and yet the car is nearly here. Faraday Future is pushing ahead, taking orders - yes, you can design your own FF91 and order it today if you want - and it looks like another EV manufacturer is about to join the race.
