Fisker Ocean US deliveries to start this year
Fisker confirmed it will begin shipping its first electric car to its US based customers this coming spring, without specifying which month exactly. Fisker Ocean has been introduced to US markets as far back as 2020 and eventually production vehicle was shown at the LA Auto Show in 2021
The Fisker Ocean Sport is the base trim available in the US and this version starts at $37,499. It is a single electric motor FWD drivetrain capable of 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The company hasn’t disclosed full specification yet but claims the Touring Range battery pack is good enough for 273 miles.
Next one up is the Fisker Ocean Ultra with dual-motor AWD system and Hyper Range battery which offers up to 379 miles of range. The company claims it can hit 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds or 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. This version will start at $49,999.
Top trim Fisker Ocean Extreme comes with a slightly more powerful drivetrain capable of 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds suggesting the 0 to 60 mph sprint can take as little as 3.6 seconds. The battery offers up to 391 miles of range and the car comes with retractable solar roof that can add up to 2,000 miles of range in perfect conditions, according to Fisker. This version starts at $68,999.
The car offers a few cool tricks, it can lower all the windows - including the tailgate window and those small quarter panels in the rear. The 17.1-inch center infotainment screen can rotate 90 degrees in what is called a Hollywood Mode. Vehicle-2-load is present as well and the car can power a house in emergencies or help charging other electric cars.
Fisker confirmed that so far only 58 test vehicles have been manufactured but the mass production is meant to start any day now. The Ocean’s EV tax situation is tricky at the moment, customers who pre-ordered the vehicle last year will qualify under old rules for the $7,500 discount. For anybody placing the orders now it means paying a full price until Fisker finalizes its negotiations with US partners to bring the manufacturing to North America, with planned production to start in 2024.
