Lucid Air's cheapest version gets $7,500 more affordable, comes with extra perks
Lucid has decided to make the Air more affordable, and so the Air Pure, the cheapest version of the EV, now starts at just $69,900. The previous lowest price for this model was $77,400, so you're saving exactly $7,500, which just so happens to be the amount of the federal tax credit under the Biden Administration's Inflation Reduction Act.
That may not be a coincidence. The Lucid Air isn't eligible for the tax credit, so the company may be trying to issue the same discount to customers directly. Anyway, the Air Pure launched at $82,400 so compared to that this is an even more drastic price reduction.
Moving on, the Lucid Air Touring now starts at $77,900, whereas before it used to be $85,900. Finally, the Lucid Air Grand Touring is $109,900, down from $110,900. Other trims haven't seen any price cuts, so it's clear that Lucid wants to better compete at the lower end of its scale. All of these prices exclude the destination fee.
On top of all this, if you buy an Air you get $1,000 from Lucid towards a charging accessory of your choosing, which can even be the $1,200 Connected Home Charging Station. Thus you can pick that one up for only $200. Lucid is also giving new customers (regardless if purchasing or leasing) free scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
