More details about BYD Han L revealed, dual-gun charging on board
BYD has recently unveiled its latest creation, the Han L sedan. This sleek, all-electric vehicle has the world talking not just because of its elegant design but also because of its groundbreaking technology and impressive performance. BYD has revealed more details about its new sedan, and some are quite interesting.
BYD has positioned the Han L as a high-performance electric sedan, and its specifications certainly live up to the hype. The top-of-the-line all-wheel-drive version has a dual-motor setup with a staggering 810 kW (1085 hp) output. But it is the rear-axle-mounted motor that steals the show. It alone delivers a peak output of 580 kW, with a maximum speed of 30,500 rpm. That's even faster than Xiaomi's 27,200 rpm HyperEngine V8s found in the SU7 Ultra.
The other remarkable feature of the Han L is its dual-gun charging technology. It allows users to plug two charging guns into the car at the same time, cutting charging time nearly by half. Leaked data reveals that the Han L can charge from 16% to 100% in just 24 minutes, even in freezing temperatures as low as -30°C.
The Han L EV will be equipped with BYD's 945V Blade battery 2.0. Customers can choose between two variants: a rear-wheel-drive model with a 500 kW electric motor and the aforementioned AWD variant with the 810 kW dual-motor setup. In addition to the all-electric model, BYD will also offer a plug-in hybrid version, the Han L PHEV, featuring BYD's fifth-generation DM 5.0 PHEV system.
The official price is yet to be announced, but company officials have hinted that the Han L will be priced around RMB 300,000 (approximately $41,000). The official launch is expected to take place after the Chinese New Year in March.
