VW to soon release the Chinese version of the ID.7 called ID.UNYX 07
Volkswagen Anhui, a joint venture between Volkswagen and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group, has filed for regulatory approval of its upcoming ID.UNYX 07 all-electric sedan. The filing is listed on China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website, and it's part of the regulatory process in China.
As the name of the vehicle suggests, the ID.UNYX 07 is related to its western counterpart, the VW ID.7, but features restyled headlights and taillights along with a new front fascia. The Chinese version is also slightly shorter, narrower, but taller than the original ID.7, measuring 4,853 mm in length, 1,852 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,826 mm.
Hardware-wise, the UNYX 07 drifts even further from the ID.7, despite sharing the same MEB platform. The configuration featured in the MIIT listing runs on a single 228 hp electric motor and uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by Gotion High-tech.
Public feedback will be accepted from October 10 until the 15th, which means the vehicle will hit the market very soon.
This is the third vehicle from the newly formed joint venture between Volkswagen and Anhui, with the first one being the ID.UNYX SUV, introduced back in June 2024, while the second one, the ID.UNYX 06, was unveiled earlier this year.
