Toyota bZ4X ready to be released in Europe

Ro, 01 April 2022

Toyota announced that it's ready to ship its fully electric bZ4X in Europe as early as this summer. The vehicle is based on the e-TNGA platform and will be offered in two versions - a dual-motor iteration and a single-motor one.

The option with two motors is AWD with up to 470km WLTP range, while the FWD configuration is rated at 516km autonomy. Both of them will sport a 71.4 kWh battery, which is the same one used in Japan.

The battery itself is marketed to retain 90% of its capacity after 10 years of normal use or after about 240,000km. An optional extended warranty for up to 1,000,000 km will also be offered, which guarantees 70% capacity retention. Using a 150kW DC charger will replenish about 80% of the battery in 30 minutes.

The FWD version sports a 150kW motor with 265Nm of torque while the AWD's peak output is 160 kW (336 Nm of torque).

It's probably important to note that the first vehicles will ship with a 6.6 kWh onboard charger while the three-phase 11kW charger suitable for most European countries will ship in Q4 2022.

Whoever is designing Toyota's these days has decided to go for a disgusting path.. Techy design , loads of lines and horrible optics.. a bit more of Japanese minimalism would help them a lot.. No need for transformer looking cars..
