Updated DS3 E-Tense gets more power and bigger range

DS unveiled a slightly updated DS 3 crossover, in the process the car received few visual changes, it dropped the Crossback name, got a better and stronger motor and even ended up with a bigger battery.

The biggest visual change comes courtesy of new and much slimmer headlights, the light signature has been updated as well and now it resembles the one from DS 4.

The bulk of changes happen underneath the updated body. Since the DS 3 E-Tense shares its CMP platform with the Peugeot e-208, it was just a question of time before it got the same and updated electric motor. The power goes up to 154 HP which is exactly 20 HP more than it had before.

The battery has been replaced with a larger unit, now it offers 50.8 kWh of usable capacity - the result is 250 miles (402 km) WLTP range which is 50 miles more than the car managed before.

On the inside, the updated DS 3 gets a new 10.3 inch infotainment screen running the DS Iris software, it’s quite clever and it allows for creation of personalised widgets making things a little bit easier.

Since we already have the Peugeot e-208 and not the DS 3 running the updated motor and the battery, next in line for the upgrade is the Vauxhall (Opel) Corsa-e which shares the same platform.
