Next generations of Dodge Charger and Challenger will be all-electric
The age of Hemi is officially coming to an end. The electric car revolution is in its “full ahead” mode and whether we’ll end up with battery or hydrogen cars mostly, one thing is set in stone - Hemi won’t be around much longer.
Can you imagine all-electric General Lee?The whole world presumed that out of all legacy brands, Dodge would be the last man standing, the bastion of combustion age. It seems the company has other plans and forgot to fill in its fans about them.
Recent reports claimed Hemi engines would return in the new generation of Dodge Challenger and Charger. Everyone seems to expect that the first all-electric car from Dodge will be the Ram 1500. As it turns out a representative from Dodge was quick to email the guys from Motor1 with a short reply: “The story is incorrect. The Hemi is going away. The next generation will be BEV”.
Next SRT, Scatpack and Hellcat will be all-electricIt couldn’t be more to the point or more official - the next generation of Charger and Challenger will be all electric. Watch the prices of the current cars go up as the Hemi-powered Charger becomes the last of its kind. The company is about to unveil the future electric muscle car this month and we can’t wait to get more details about it.
Next generation will be all-wheel drive all-electric hell-riserWhen a bombshell like that drops, you know the game is over. It’s huge, this is a major move by Dodge and a brave one as well, there will be thousands of purists screaming in outrage but in the end the performance of the first electric muscle car will speak for itself. Dodge doesn’t sit and wait for the world to force it to change its ways, it ignores the naysayers and rips the band-aid off.
