Nio ES6 and ET7 launched

Nio took to the stage at the Shanghai Auto Show and finally launched the 2023 Nio ET7 electric sedan. At the same event, the company unveiled the refreshed Nio ES6 with pre-orders for both electric cars now open.

The 2023 Nio ET7 brings a host of updates and upgrades to the company’s electric flagship sedan. The interior has been refined, and the vehicle now sports a more comfortable suspension setup. The prices start at $66,600 for the version with a 75 kWh battery while the 100 kWh option demands $75,000.

The new Signature version of the Nio ET7 starts at nearly $78,000 and as it is with all Nio vehicles, the ET7 can be bought without the battery. The BaaS lowers the price to $56,000 for the standard models and to $59,000 for the Signature version. The monthly battery rentals are set at $142 or $244 depending on battery size. All prices at current exchange rates of course.

The 2023 Nio ET7 comes with a 10-year warranty without any mileage restrictions. Each customer gets 4 battery swaps per month free of charge and the onboard internet connectivity is free for life. Putting a deposit down for the vehicle before June qualifies for a free home charger or 2 extra battery swaps per month.

Nio offers its latest NOP+ (Navigate On Pilot) ADAS on a monthly subscription of $55 but customers who put a deposit down before the end of May will receive two years of this service free of charge. Nio’s autonomous driving software is not yet available but the company confirmed it will come as a subscription service as well at a cost of nearly $100.

The refreshed Nio ES6 made its debut at Shanghai Auto Show alongside the ET7. The company opened the order books although it did not confirm the final retail price of the vehicle. An RMB 5,000 ($730) deposit will reserve a car which will officially go on sale by the end of May.


The ES6 buyers will get the same 10-year warranty without restriction and early deposits will secure the 2-year NOP+ subscription deal. The car comes with 6 monthly battery swaps included and of course, the internet connection is free for life. Additionally, the early adopters will get a Moon Theme package with orange brake calipers valued at $1,160.

Nio ES6 deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of May with the first test vehicles to be available across Nio centers the same month. There is no word yet when the vehicles will become available in Europe or their pricing.
