Tesla Cybertruck crashes into a pole with active FSD v13

Ro, 10 February 2025

A Tesla owner from Florida shared a story on X involving his Cybertruck and Tesla's Full Self-Driving advanced driving assist system, which has gained a lot of traction online. The truck was reportedly using the latest v13 version of the software, which Musk claims will go live this year for the wider public and will be unsupervised.

He said that the Cybertruck was supposed to change lanes before merging into the left one, but instead, the vehicle didn't slow down, hit the curb and crashed right into an electrical pole. Challinger, the car's owner, acknowledges his mistake and said he has become complacent since he never saw any issues with v13 online.

Challinger urged everyone to remain attentive while using FSD and not to make the same mistake as he did.

In any case, Elon Musk's claims that FSD will be ready to go unsupervised this year are probably once again a way too optimistic, to say the least. It will be interesting to see the results of the full investigation.
